Too much of a good thing?

Updated: Feb 10, 2023

Is it possible to work out too much?

Yes, yes it is.

I 💙 to move.

I 💙 to program workouts for others to move.

I 💙 watching all those movements make people stronger, healthier, happier.

But just like everything in life, there is a possibility to overdo it and a point of diminishing returns. 📉

If you are consistently tired, sore, stressed or not seeing the results you want, you may need a break.

Rest days are truly where the 🪄 magic happens.

You put in all the hard work, but if your body can't fully recover, it won't reap all the rewards.

Some fear if they take a day off, they won't progress towards their goals. The trick is to take the break, so you can come back stronger. Just like taking a rest break in a really tough workout, you come back stronger in the end.

So schedule🗓 those days off, or dial back the intensity on some of your workouts and focus on active recovery. If you must move (I feel ya), go for a walk, flow through some inchworms or hit up some yoga 🧘‍♀️. Or take that hour and plan your nutrition 🍎 for the day/week.

Schedule out your workouts and rest days for the month. Write down your goals and your plan to get there. One hour of focused planning can keep you progressing more than an extra hour of exercise.

Quick read below if you may be overdoing it:

If you think you may be overtrained or injured🤕, check with your trainer on how you can keep moving safely so that you can stay #healthyforthelonghaul. Because if you don't figure out a recovery plan now, you may be forced to take a much longer break than you want eventually. If your trainer doesn't know how you are feeling or what ails you, they can't help you progress safely. Help them help YOU!

If you are a regular in COREFIT classes and book as many as you can, we 💙 to see you! The schedule is strategically designed so that HIIT and LIFT classes are not on consecutive days and 🧘‍♀️ is there to start and end your weeks strong.

But you can still overdo it.

Listen to YOUR body.

Challenge YOUR body.

Respect YOUR body.

If you've read all this and can't fathom how someone works out too much (like I don't understand people that forget to eat or are never hungry ;), you should book your
